Digital Double Creation

Alaska Native Cultural Heritage Association

In partnership with the Alaska Native Heritage Center, this project preserved traditional Alaskan dance and cultural expression through motion capture and high-fidelity digital avatar creation. The inaugural piece featured a hyper-realistic recreation of one dancer, including her outfit, hairstyle, and performance.

Project Breakdown

This project, in short was a trial by fire for somebody who prior to this would only consider myself an ambitious novice in the art of cg grooming. I loved this project every step of the way despite its challenges, I got to learn so many different aspects of grooming, from initial dev planning, to simulations wedging, to material creation and physical assets interactions. I am gratefully of the opportunity the team gave me in creating these assets and forever improving my understanding and appreciation of creating beautiful hair and fur in cg.
