For his Las Vegas residency, Donny Osmond had a bold vision: bring his 14-year-old self on stage to perform beside him—live, in real time. Using AI facial reconstruction, voice synthesis, and proprietary pipeline tools.
Project Breakdown
Although the actual execution and technical aspects of this particular project was not as intense and in depth as our projects usually are, it still holds an important place in my mind because it was the first project that I was tasked to use AI tools in. The tools in question for this project was to research and play around with the best face replacement models around, which at that time was still deep-fakes.
Harkening back to old school deep-fake techniques pioneered by the Tom Cruise deep fake guy, We had the grandson of Donny come into the studio one day and filmed him performing their duet. After that it was a matter of seeing which reference image fits best with our input video.
